NEW LONDON--Two longtime New London business owners are speaking out about a proposal to build a new high school and tear down their current downtown homes.
Hairdresser and business Owner Nancy Hennegan and Photographer A. Vincent Scarano both have been operating their businesses for over three decades in space owned by the Garde Arts Center, according to The New London Day.
The local shop owners would need to move if a proposal to turn their leased space, in the Mercer and Meridian buildings, into an arts magnet public high school goes through, The Day reports.
