New London School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in New London is August 31. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The New London Public School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 8/28 - 8/30: Teacher Meetings
• 8/31: First Day of School

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)

October

• 10/9: No School (Indigenous Peoples’ Day)
• 10/19 - 10/20: High School Half Days

November

• 11/7: No School for Students (Teacher’s Meeting)
• 11/10: No School (Veterans' Day)
• 11/22: Half Day
• 11/23 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Break)
• 11/30: Elementary and Middle School Half Day

December

• 12/1: Elementary and Middle School Half Day
• 12/22: Half Day
• 12/25 - 1/1: No School (Holiday Break)

January

• 1/1: No School (Holiday Break)
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)

February

• 2/19 - 2/20: No School (Winter Break)

March

• 3/9: No School for Students (Teacher’s Meeting)
• 3/15 - 3/16: Elementary and Middle School Half Days
• 3/22 - 3/23: High School Half Days
• 3/30: No School (Good Friday)

April

• 4/16 - 4/20: No School (Spring Break)

• 6/11: Last Day of School, Half Day
