New London Still in Top 3 of Girls Basketball Poll

The Whalers have won 17 of their first 18 outings this season.

NEW LONDON, CT — In the wake of Sunday night's thrilling Super Bowl finish came more exciting news for the Trumbull High School girls basketball team, which moved into the top position in the latest weekly media poll.

The Golden Eagles (16-0), the lone remaining undefeated girls team in the state, garnered 10 of 13 first-place votes to move up from second in the balloting.

New London High School (17-1) received the number three ranking in the most recent balloting.
