Teen's Excessive Speed Caused Fatal New Milford Crash: Police
A teen was charged with manslaughter in connection to a crash that killed another teen last year, according to police.
NEW MILFORD, CT — A New Milford teen has been charged in connection to a fatal three-car crash in New Milford last year, according to police.
On Sept. 22, police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a crash on Route 7 in front of a restaurant.
An Infiniti G35 was driving north on Route 7 in the right lane and struck a Hyundai Tucson trying to turn into the restaurant from the southbound left lane, News 12 Connecticut reported. The Infiniti then hit a Nissan Rouge driving south on Route 7.

Julio Gomez, 17, a passenger in the Infiniti, died as a result of the crash. Two others were hospitalized as a result of the accident.
The teen driver's excessive speed led to the crash, police said. He was charged Thursday with first-degree manslaughter, first-degree reckless endangerment, reckless driving, 16/17-year-old passenger restrictions, and failure to wear a safety belt, according to police.

He appeared in Torrington Superior Court on Friday.
