Winner Declared In Special Election For Groton, New London Seat

GROTON/NEW LONDON, CT — Democrat Dan Gaiewski easily won the race to replace State Rep. Christine Conley in the 40th District, according to unofficial results from the Secretary of State.

Gaiewski faced off against Republican Robert Boris in the special election held Tuesday. The unofficial tally has Gaiewski with 1,5183 votes and Boris with 716 votes.

The 40th District covers Groton and part of New London.

Conley, a Democrat, announced her resignation last month as she was being nominated for a judicial position. She had been elected to her fifth term in November.
