Poppy‘s restaurant has been serving North Branford for over 52 years. Within our 52 years of business, Poppys restaurant has never been closed  for more than a day or two. Not only did the shut down devastate and affect us. NORTH BRANFORD, CT - Currently North Branford Police Officers are allowed to have mustaches. It looks like soon they may also soon be able to add closely cropped beards. At the November meeting of the Board of Police Commissioners, Acting Police Chief James Lovelace said he had received a request from the police union for police to be able to have beards - something that is currently not allowed. Lovelace said he had "no problem" with the request as long as the beards were closely cropped "military-style." The commissioners agreed to discuss the request further, and possibly take action, at an upcoming meeting. Photo by Jack Kramer
