North Branford Police Want To Be Able to Wear Goatees On Duty

Police Commission considering whether to allow police officers to wear beards on the job; they can only have mustaches now.

NORTH BRANFORD, CT - Currently North Branford Police Officers are allowed to have mustaches. It looks like soon they may also soon be able to add closely cropped beards.

At the November meeting of the Board of Police Commissioners, Acting Police Chief James Lovelace said he had received a request from the police union for police to be able to have beards - something that is currently not allowed.

Lovelace said he had “no problem” with the request as long as the beards were closely cropped “military-style.”
