Pawsome! K9 Chance OK After Emergency Surgery, Cops Thank Community
A Facebook post was at first worrisome, but with many pulling for NBPD K9 Chance, an emergency surgery went well, now on road to recovery.

NORTH BRANFORD, CT —Late Monday morning, North Branford police took to Facebook to plead for "community support" for police K9 Chance, who suffered a medical condition requiring emergency surgery.
"The department has authorized all necessary medical care to ensure Chance receives the best treatment possible," police wrote on Facebook. "We are hopeful for a swift and full recovery for Chance, who has served our community with unwavering dedication. Please keep K9 Chance in your thoughts during this challenging time. Your support means the world to us and to Chance."
The people of North Branford (and beyond) responded with many hundreds offering support and prayers for the dog described as, "Our beloved K9 Chance, a valued member of the North Branford Police Department."

Tuesday, the good news came in a social media update.
K9 Chance's surgery "went well" and he was released from hospital.

"Chance has a road to recovery," police wrote. "Thank you all for the continued support."
Folks can help support K9 Chance during his time of recovery As many have reached out to help K9 Chance with his hospitalization, surgery, and recovery, the Hometown Foundation Inc. has helped police organize a website where donations can be made directly via the link or checks can be mailed to the address listed on the website.
