Girl, 9, Helps Save Father’s Life After Cardiac Event: North Haven PD
The 9-year-old is being hailed as a hero for her life-saving actions after her father, a North Haven police officer, collapsed.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — A 9-year-old girl is being hailed as a hero for helping to save her father’s life in North Haven, according to police.
Police said the situation happened on Nov. 30 when 9-year-old Analia Sinanis called 911 after her father Alex – a North Haven police officer – collapsed after suffering a “cardiac event.”
Analia, who was home with her little sister, remained calm and gave dispatchers pertinent information after her father collapsed, according to police.

“During this call from Analia, our dispatchers and officers monitoring the call in real time, learned the individual in distress was North Haven Police Officer Alex Sinanis,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “North Haven officers who work with Alex on a regular basis were first to arrive and found him unresponsive with no pulse.
“As they began life saving efforts, North Haven Fire personnel arrived on scene and took over medical care. Fire personnel worked on Alex to regain a pulse. Alex continued to receive amazing care from the doctors and staff at Yale New Haven Hospital, but even with that, Alex spent the next 48 hours in a coma, and his future was uncertain. Alex ultimately regained consciousness and the road to recovery began.
