Home Severely Damaged In Fire In North Haven: Officials
Crews also responded to a car fire where neighbors used a garden hose to try and prevent the house from catching fire, officials said.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — A home was severely damaged in a fire on Pool Road in North Haven on Friday night, according to fire officials.
Crews responded around 7:45 p.m. and found heavy smoke coming from the front of the house.
“Units found an advanced fire in the basement creating significant smoke and fire conditions for firefighters to battle,” officials wrote in a post on the North Haven Fire Department’s Facebook page.

The Hamden Fire Department provided assistance at the scene, and the Wallingford Fire Department provided station coverage, according to officials.
“No one was injured and the cause of the fire remains under investigation,” officials wrote. “Members of the CERT team were on site providing assistance to fire personnel. The house was severely damaged by the blaze and the Red Cross provided assistance to the occupants.”

On Saturday, officials said crews responded to a car fire that nearly caught a house on fire on Benedict Drive.
“Neighbors used a garden hose to try and prevent the house from catching fire which sustained minor exterior damage due to the proximity of the fire,” officials wrote. “No injuries were reported at this scene.”
North Haven fire crews also responded to a rollover crash between Exits 12 and 13 on I-91 on Sunday. Officials said the driver sustained minor injures and was treated at the scene.
