1 Person Hospitalized Following Carbon Monoxide Incident At Norwalk Commercial Building: FD
Fire officials said crews detected elevated carbon monoxide levels inside the two-story commercial building in Norwalk.

NORWALK, CT — One person was taken to a hospital following a carbon monoxide incident reported Tuesday morning at a commercial building in Norwalk, according to the Norwalk Fire Department.
In a news release, Assistant Chief Timothy Reardon said a medical emergency was reported around 7:30 a.m. at a two-story commercial building on Willard Road.
Crews entered the building and detected elevated carbon monoxide levels inside using standard hazardous detection meters, Reardon said.

After evacuating all occupants from the building, firefighters located and shut down the source of the carbon monoxide, then ventilated the building until CO levels were reduced to 0 parts per million (ppm), according to Reardon.
Six people were evaluated at the scene and one person was taken to Norwalk Hospital, Reardon said.

Police and Norwalk Hospital ambulances also responded to the building, according to Reardon.
The Norwalk Fire Marshal Division is investigating the cause of the incident, Reardon said.
