Cat Saved From Norwalk House Fire: FD
Fire officials said the blaze broke out in the furnace room of a three-story multi-family house in Norwalk.

NORWALK, CT — Crews extinguished a fire that broke out at a multi-family home in Norwalk early Monday morning, according to the Norwalk Fire Department.
In a news release, Assistant Fire Chief Timothy Reardon said the fire was reported around 3:30 a.m. in the first-floor furnace room of a three-story multi-family house on Woodward Avenue.
When firefighters arrived, they found flames extending through the walls and staircase on the first floor to the second floor, Reardon said.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames on the first floor and further stopped the spread of fire to the second floor, according to Reardon.
All occupants safely evacuated the home on their own, Reardon said.

A cat was also found and safely removed from the house by firefighters, according to Reardon.
No injuries were reported, and the Norwalk Fire Marshal Division is investigating the cause of the fire, Reardon said.
