City Council To Review Road, Pedestrian Projects For Norwalk At Upcoming Meeting

The Norwalk City Council will consider major infrastructure spending, board appointments and other items at its Jan. 13, 2026, meeting.

NORWALK, CT — City councilors are scheduled to consider some possible infrastructure and transportation projects Tuesday night, including street and pedestrian safety projects across the city.

The City Council is set to meet at 7:30 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall in a hybrid format. Public comment is listed on the agenda and will be taken on agenda items during the meeting.

Among the largest items, the council may review authorizations tied to the removal of a rail spur and berm along South Main Street. The work is pending prior committee approval.

Council members are also scheduled to consider agreements related to pedestrian access improvements at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Hamilton Avenue.

Additional transportation-related items on the agenda includes a pavement markings project with a proposed agreement not to exceed $271,829 for roadway striping, symbols and legends at various locations throughout Norwalk.

On the financial side, the Finance and Claims Committee is expected to present recent tax collection narratives and monthly tax collector reports, along with a request to authorize a three-year software subscription at a cost of up to $13,440 annually.

The council is also scheduled to act on a series of mayoral appointments and reappointments to boards and commissions, including the Board of Estimate and Taxation, Police Commission, Fire Commission, Board of Health, Zoning Board of Appeals and Conservation Commission.

Members of the public may participate by attending in person or remotely.

Written comments may also be submitted by email prior to noon on the day of the meeting to be included in the record, according to the agenda.
