- If you still have back-to-school shopping to do, remember that Connecticut's annual 'tax free' shopping week runs until Saturday, Aug. 24th. Taxes are waived for clothing and footwear costing less than $300.
- Heading out to the beach or on a boat? Tides are as follows:
- Saturday Aug. 24th, Low tide: 8:27am. High tide: 2:31pm
- Sunday, Aug. 25th, Low tide: 9:125am. High tide: 3:20pm
- Learn how to read a nautical chart and how to plot a course at Flotilla 72's half-day Pre-Navigation seminar. Sign in starts at 7:30am.
- Enjoy a lobster at Ripka's Beach Café at Calf Pasture Beach. Yum! You can even order in advance for waterside delivery to your boat.
