Norwalk Christmas Tree Collection 2026 Schedule Announced

The city has announced the schedule for its 2026 Christmas tree collection program.

NORWALK, CT — The city has announced the schedule for its 2026 Christmas tree collection program.

According to the city's Facebook page, Norwalk's tree collection schedule is based on the day of the week a resident receives their recycling collection; the day of the week a resident receives recycling will determine which week their collection will take place.

The following January 2026 Christmas tree collection schedule was provided by the city:

  • Week of Jan. 5: Residents who receive regular recycling collection on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
  • Week of Jan. 12: Residents who receive regular recycling collection on Thursdays and Fridays.

The city also provided the following guidelines:

  • Residents must have trees curbside by 6 a.m. on the Monday of their assigned Christmas tree collection week.
  • No plastic bags, lights, decorations or stands will be collected.
  • Holiday wreaths will not be collected as these are considered garbage due to the metal wire.

Residents of the Sixth Taxing District are privately serviced for this collection and will not receive this service, according to the city.
