Missing Teen Found: Norwalk Police Continue to Investigate Circumstances

A teenager who had been missing since last month was found Friday afternoon.

Storm Sorrentino, 14, was reported missing from Norwalk in December and his father, Saverio Sorrentino of Newtown, was convinced that the boy’s mother Kathryn Sorrentino, of Fairfield, knew where he was.

Saverio Sorrentino said during a court appearance on Friday that Fairfield Police located his son, according to the Hartford Courant. He didn’t elaborate on how he was found.

Kathryn was put in jail for several days by a judge. The judge, who had said he didn’t believe that Kathryn didn’t know the whereabouts of her son, said he would have her sent to jail each day she didn’t give an answer to where he was. On Thursday, she maintained she didn’t know where her son was and said she would submit to a lie detector test to prove it.

Storm was located in Fairfield around 2 p.m. on Friday on Burr Street after a woman reported seeing a suspicious person, WFSB 3 television reports.

Kathryn Sorrentino appeared in court Friday afternoon. After Storm was located on Friday, she was released from police custody.

“What’s important to me is that my brother is safe and that he has his will respected despite his age and that he’s allowed to live where he’s comfortable and supported,” said Sam Leigh, Storm’s sister, according to WFSB 3 television.

Detectives from the Norwalk Special Victims Unit responded to the Fairfield Police Department and conducted an interview with Storm Sorrentino, who has since been reunited with his father.

Norwalk Police said that the Special Victims Unit is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Storm’s disappearance. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Special Victims Unit Detective Jim Thompson at 203-854-3184.
