Norwalk Public Schools Seeking New Human Resources Director

The district's executive director of human resources will soon be transitioning out of NPS and officials will seek to fill the position.

NORWALK, CT — The district's executive director of human resources and legal counsel will soon be transitioning out of Norwalk Public Schools, and officials are seeking to fill the position.

According to a news release provided by the district, Executive Director of HR and Legal Counsel Lewis Brey recently accepted a chief human resources officer position at a private school in Connecticut.

Brey will begin his new position on July 15, and the district will be posting the position of HR director and is actively seeking to fill the position.

Chief Financial Officer Lunda Asmani, who currently oversees the human resources finance departments, will oversee the day-to-day functions of the department during the transition.

Asmani will be assisted by Assistant HR Director Daniela Humphrey and Assistant Legal Counsel Kimberly Byrd-Carolina, according to the district.

The human resources and finance departments continue to work very closely together in many functions, including but not limited to payroll, recruitment, position control, benefits management and position management, district officials said.

Asmani and Norwalk Public Schools also thanked Brey for his service to the district and "wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors."
