Suspected Purse Snatcher Arrested In Norwalk: Police
The suspect is accused of dragging the victim during the August incident, according to authorities.
NORWALK, CT — A 42-year-old man, suspected of a purse snatching incident in August, was arrested on a warrant by Norwalk police over the weekend.
Stanley Easton is accused of grabbing the purse of the victim during the Aug. 24 incident, which resulted in Easton dragging "this person down the road" during a struggle when the victim would not let go of the purse, according to Norwalk Police Sgt. Ryan Evarts. Easton eventually got away with the purse.
"This person then chased Easton down the road," Evarts said in a statement. "The victim was left with non-life-threatening injuries but was transported to the hospital."

Easton was developed as a suspect in the incident, and over the weekend, he was spotted by officers, who tried to approach him.
"Officers chased Easton, and when he was eventually caught by officers, Easton tried to give a fake name," Evarts said.

Police properly identified Easton, and charged him with the following:
- Third-degree robbery
- Third-degree assault
- Sixth-degree larceny
- Interfering with an officer
Easton is currently in custody in lieu of bail of $155,000, and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Nov. 27.
