2 Bodies Found In Burning Vehicle In Oxford

State police have not released the names of the victims.

OXFORD, CT — A vehicle found fully engulfed in flames on Route 34 early Thursday morning also contained two dead bodies, according to state police.

Around 4:10 a.m., Troop A in Southbury was advised of a vehicle fire on Roosevelt Drive. Oxford firefighters extinguished the blaze, at which point it was discovered there were two dead persons within the vehicle, police said.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has taken custody of the bodies for post-mortem examinations. The victims' identities have not yet been released pending further investigation, police said.
