Fundraiser to Support Oxford Man Battling Cancer

An online fundraiser is being held for a local Oxford man and Shelton worker battling cancer.

OXFORD--The community is rallying around one local man as he battles cancer.

Friends and family are holding a fundraiser for John Docktor of Oxford, a City of Shelton Highway Department employee who is battling lymphoma.

Diagnosed in the fall of 2015, Docktor is now faced with medical expenses and a pay cut due to his battle with cancer, according to his GoFundMe page.

"Since then John has exhausted all sick, personal and vacation time that he has accumulated over the years with The City Of Shelton Highway Department! In the very near future Johns pay will be cut to 50%," his GoFundMe page states.

The community is seeking to raise $10,000 to support his wife Rose and family.
