OXFORD--An Oxford Police officer is feeling lucky after an allegedly intoxicated driver came close to slamming into him.

The close call happened on Oxford Road early Wednesday morning and resulted in one arrest, according to The Republican-American. The driver stopped short and nearly rear-ended the police officer's cruiser while in a construction zone.

Police arrested 26-year-old Jurhan Sherifoski of Derby, according to The Republican-American. He is facing several charges including operating a motor vehicle under the influence, the report states.
