Police Investigating Theft Of Dirt Bikes In Oxford
A half-dozen dirt bikes were reported stolen out of Oxford, with all but one recovered in a brushy area Thursday morning.

OXFORD, CT — Police are investigating an apparent theft of a half-dozen dirt bikes, five of which were recovered Thursday morning.
Shortly before 2 a.m., the resident state trooper's office received a call about suspicious activity involving persons pushing dirt bikes at the intersection of Freeman and Fiddlehead roads. Responding officers initially found nothing, but in the morning, five bikes were located dumped in brush off the roadway, police said.
The owner was located and reported one bike, pictured below, was still missing. It is a 2024 KTM 450 SxF.

This is the second incident in town this week, and police said it is possible the perpetrators are utilizing Facebook Marketplace to target individuals with dirt bikes. Police ask residents to be mindful when using social media to list any items for sale.
