Woman Killed In Route 67 Crash In Oxford, State Police Say

A head-on crash involving a dump truck and a passenger car near Rich Farm Ice Cream left one person dead Tuesday morning.

OXFORD, CT — A deadly crash involving a dump truck and a car happened Thursday morning on Route 67 near Rich Farm Ice Cream, according to Connecticut State Police.

The crash occurred around 11 a.m. on Oxford Road. A dump truck traveling southbound was struck head-on by a northbound car that crossed into the opposite lane.

State police identified the person who died as Shari Sirkin, 63, of Stratford. She was removed from the vehicle at the scene and taken to Waterbury Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the dump truck was not reported to be injured.

The crash happened just north of Rich Farm Ice Cream, near 691 Oxford Road. Both vehicles were removed from the scene, and crash reconstruction officers were brought in to help determine what led to the collision.

Route 67 was closed between Towner Lane and Christian Street for several hours while emergency crews worked in the area. The road has since reopened to traffic.

The investigation remains ongoing. No additional information was available
