Seymour Man Shot Last September Died, New Haven's 13th Homicide: PD

Kenneth Cloud, 46, of Seymour, was shot Sept. 16, the night of the New Haven Grand Prix. On Dec. 22, he died from his injuries, per police.

NEW HAVEN, CT — During a news briefing last week, New Haven Chief of Police Karl Jacobson update the community on violent crime efforts and, the latest on shootings, non-fatal and fatal. Among those was the update on a September shooting that, as of Dec. 22, is now a homicide.

It was Sept. 16, the night of the New Haven Grand Prix when just before 9 p.m., police got 911 calls about a person shot on Atwater Street, between Dover Street and Wilcox Place. A 46-year-old Seymour man had been shot. He was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

Friday, police said that the victim, identified as Kenneth Cloud, "succumbed to his injuries."

His death marked New Haven’s 13th homicide of 2022.
