State Fines Oxford Doctor In Fraud Case: Report

An Oxford doctor was fined for using another doctor's identifying information to prescribe controlled substances to a family member.

OXFORD, CT — The state Medical Examining Board has fined an Oxford doctor $10,000 in a fraud case, according to Connecticut Health I-Team. The doctor, Marc Legris, is accused of using another doctor's name and Drug Enforcement Agency registration number to prescribe controlled substances to a family member.

The board also voted to unanimously reprimand Legris' medical license and ordered him to take a course in ethics and practice in a supervised setting.

According to a consent order, Legris prescribed drugs to a family member on a recurring basis from August 2018 to August 2021.
