Suspect Accused Of Attempted Identity Theft At Bank In Oxford: CSP
The incident occurred Friday afternoon, according to Connecticut State Police.

OXFORD, CT — A 42-year-old Bridgeport man was arrested on identity theft and related offenses last week, after Connecticut State Police said he tried to use false identification to gain access to an account at a bank in Oxford.
Oronde S. Homan was arrested on Friday on charges of third-degree identity theft, criminal impersonation and second-degree forgery.
According to state police, the incident occurred at about 3:40 p.m. on Friday at an undisclosed Oxford bank when Oxford police were called to the bank on a report of an individual attempting to gain access to an account while using false identification.

Homan, identified as the suspect, was still in the bank when police arrived.
"The employee explained that the male had presented a Connecticut driver’s license in an attempt to obtain bank statements," state police wrote in a news release. "However, upon reviewing the account, the employee noticed a scanned copy of the account holder’s driver’s license that clearly did not match the person in front of them. Suspicious of the discrepancy, the employee contacted the police to report the incident."

An officer ran a DMV check, which revealed that the name, date of birth, and address matched the information shown in the system, however, the DMV photo did not match Homan.
Police took Homan into custody, and during processing at Connecticut State Police Troop A, he provided authorities with his true name and date of birth.
"Homan admitted that his friend had given him a fake license and asked him to use it to attempt to obtain bank statements," state police said, adding that the victim of identity theft was notified of this incident.
Homan was released after posting a $15,000 bond, and is he is scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court on Dec. 5.
