The Subaru then turned left onto Catoonah Street and collided with another vehicle. After the collision, several youths exited the vehicle and fled on foot. With the aid of K-9 officers from both Ridgefield's and Bridgeport's K-9 units, police were able to locate the four suspects — two boys and two girls, according to police.
The four suspects were taken to the Wilton Police Department, to be reunited with their respective parents. An officer from Weston PD provided language assistance.
It was later determined the girl who was initially believed to have been abducted had entered and remained in the vehicle voluntarily, Tornello said.
Ridgefield PD and Danbury PD followed up with investigations related to violations in their respective jurisdictions, and a Wilton PD school resource officer will follow up with an investigation of violations that occurred in Wilton, according to Tornello.
