St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 353 Main Street, begins its Christmas service schedule on Sunday, December 21, with a Christmas pageant at the 10 a.m. service. The Ridgefield community is invited to come and enjoy the greatest story ever told through the children of the parish.

St. Stephen’s will hold Christmas Eve services at 4 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. The early service, a simplified Holy Eucharist, will be especially appealing to families with young children. The 10:30 service begins with a musical prelude featuring an instrumental ensemble, organ and choir. The service anthem will be “On this day earth shall ring" by British composer and organist Haldane Campbell Stewart (1868-1942).

On Christmas morning there will be a 10 o’clock service of Holy Communion for all ages. “Kids are invited to come in their pajamas and bring their favorite new gift,” said the Rev. Whitney Altopp, rector of St. Stephen’s. “Let us celebrate the birth of Jesus, our Savior and Lord!”
