Beloved Ridgefield Teacher, 40, Mourned By School Community

She was a longtime resident of Newtown and a dedicated teacher at a Ridgefield elementary school, according to her obituary.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Nicole Weintraub, a longtime resident of Newtown and a dedicated teacher at Farmingville Elementary School in Ridgefield, died May 1 at the age of 40, according to her obituary.

The obituary, posted by Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, notes Weintraub had a love for teaching that was evident in her daily interactions with her fifth grade students at Farmingville, whom she constantly inspired to be curious and kind.

Weintraub cherished her two children above all else, and she radiated warmth and positivity in everything she did, the obituary notes.

According to The News-Times, Weintraub died from a ruptured brain aneurysm.

Superintendent Susie Da Silva said in a message to the Ridgefield schools community Weintraub had an inspiring impact on the entire FES community and her loss is "immeasurable," according to The News-Times.

A funeral service for Weintraub is scheduled to take place Thursday at 5 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima Parish, located at 46 Church Hill Road in Newtown.
