Cheapest Gas Near Me: Prices At Ridgefield Pumps Continue To Fall

RIDGEFIELD, CT — In the roll-up to the Memorial Day Weekend, and the start of the Serious Driving Season, prices at the pump have continued their soft decline as demand for gasoline continues to trend below last year’s levels, according to research from AAA Northeast.

In Connecticut, a gallon of self-service regular is averaging $3.68, down 4 cents from last week and unchanged from one month ago. The national average is $3.59, down 2 cents from last week and down 8 cents from last month.

Whether due to the rise of electric and hybrid vehicles, new habits acquired during the COVID-19 pandemic, or something else, Americans have consumed 1.5 percent less gasoline in 2024, compared to last year, year to date, according to the Energy Information Administration. The result has been to keep some pressure off gas prices, according to Alec Slatky, managing director of Public and Government Affairs for AAA Northeast.

"Drivers are benefiting from falling gas prices ahead of the Memorial Day holiday," Slatky said. "Even if demand spikes over the holiday, refiners are continuing to ramp up production to meet typical seasonal demand."

In Ridgefield, the best price for a gallon of regular fuel is $3.55 at the Gulf at 115 Danbury Road. At the Stateline Exxon, 242 South Salem Road, you'll pay $3.89
