Chinobay To Bring Ugandan Fusion Music To Ridgefield’s Ballard Park
Chinobay performs a free CHIRP concert in Ridgefield, blending Ugandan traditions with global sounds.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — Ugandan musician Chinobay will take the stage July 15 at Ballard Park as part of the town’s ongoing CHIRP concert series, bringing a blend of traditional East African music and global fusion to Ridgefield. The free concert begins at 7 p.m.
Recognized internationally for his commitment to preserving and reimagining the sounds of Uganda, Chinobay is a multi-instrumentalist and composer known for combining indigenous African instruments with modern influences. His music promotes cultural dialogue and unity, and he has performed in over 75 countries as both a soloist and collaborator.
The July 15 performance is underwritten by the Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Foundation and is part of CHIRP (Concert Happenings in Ridgefield’s Parks), a summer-long series of free Tuesday and Thursday concerts in Ballard Park. CHIRP is co-sponsored by the Ridgefield Parks & Recreation Department and "The Ridgefield Press."

Concertgoers are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnics. No tickets or reservations are needed.
Due to limited parking, attendees are asked to follow signage and instructions from parking personnel. Drop-offs, including passengers and coolers, may be made at the CVS entrance to Ballard Park. Visitors are reminded not to park in front of open restaurants unless dining there.
