Gun And Drug Charges For Motorcyclist After Accident In Ridgefield: PD
Ridgefield police have charged a Waterbury motorcyclist with traffic, gun and drug offenses.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — Police have charged a Waterbury motorcyclist with traffic, gun and drug offenses.
At round 10:38 Wednesday morning, Ridgefield Police responded to a report of a motorcycle lying on the ground in the area of 786 Ridgebury Road. The motorcycle appeared to have been involved in an accident, but there was no driver at the scene, according to police.
In the course of their search for the possibly injured motorcyclist, police discovered a jacket and backpack in an adjacent yard. The backpack contained a large amount of narcotics and a firearm, according to police.

Officers continued to canvass the area, found the cyclist hiding in the back of a nearby vehicle, and took him into custody without incident.
Police charged the 38-year-old motorcyclist with criminal possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance, sale of a narcotic, possession of drug paraphernalia, evading responsibility, driving while suspended, driving unreasonably fast, failure to maintain lane, driving a motorcycle without endorsement and failure to renew registration.

The motorcyclist was issued a $100,000 bond, which he was not able to post, and then taken to Danbury Superior Court.
