RIDGEFIELD, CT — More than $72,000 was raised for youth mental health programs during the annual Have A Heart benefit for Kids In Crisis, held June 5 in Ridgefield.

The fundraiser supports TeenTalk, a program placing master’s-level mental health counselors in middle and high schools to provide free, confidential counseling to students. In Ridgefield, the service is offered at East Ridge Middle School, Scotts Ridge Middle School and Ridgefield High School.

The event began with a VIP veranda reception at The West Lane Inn, followed by a garden party at The Benjamin. Guests enjoyed local food, an auction and appearances by First Selectman Rudy Marconi and Scotts Ridge Middle School Principal Tim Salem, who spoke about the need for mental health services in schools.
