I Draw Slow To Bring Irish Americana Sound To Ridgefield’s Ballard Park For Free CHIRP Con

Irish Americana band I Draw Slow plays free CHIRP concert in Ridgefield's Ballard Park.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — I Draw Slow, a Dublin-based Americana band known for blending Appalachian-inspired melodies with Irish storytelling, will perform July 1 at Ballard Park as part of the Concert Happenings in Ridgefield's Parks (CHIRP) series. The concert is free to the public and begins at 7 p.m.

Fronted by siblings Dave and Louise Holden, I Draw Slow has gained an international following for their seamless fusion of folk, roots and traditional influences. Their harmonically rich songs and energetic performances have earned them slots at major festivals across the U.S. and Europe.

The July 1 performance is underwritten by the volunteers of the Ridgefield Thrift Shop and is co-sponsored by the Ridgefield Parks & Recreation Department and The Ridgefield Press.

CHIRP concerts are held every Tuesday and Thursday through Aug. 28 at Ballard Park. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnics. No tickets or reservations are required.

Attendees should note that parking is limited. Passengers and coolers may be dropped off at the CVS entrance to Ballard Park. Drivers are asked to follow posted signs and instructions from parking personnel, and to avoid parking in front of open restaurants unless they are dining there.
