Low to Remain in Ridgefield While Superintendent Search Continues

Current Superintendent of Schools has agreed to stay on for another year while the Board of Ed finds a replacement.

Unable to find a suitable replacement, Superintendent Deborah Low has agreed to stay on as the head of Ridgefield Schools for an additional year.

“After a search process for a new Superintendent of Schools, it was the Board [of Education’s] decision that the candidates were not the right fit for the district,” the board said in a statement. “The Board is grateful that Ms. Low has agreed to continue as Superintendent while the search for her replacement continues.”

The Board of Ed noted that during Low’s tenure as superintendent, “the district has had some of the state’s lowest budget increases while continuing to advance curriculum and learning on a yearly basis.”
