One Motorist Killed In 2-Car Crash: Ridgefield Police

RIDGEFIELD, CT — One motorist was killed in a 2-car collision early Saturday morning.

Ridgefield police were called to the scene of a crash at 1:39 Saturday morning on Danbury Road (Route 7) near the Route 35 intersection in Ridgefield.

A car travelling northbound crossed over into the other lane, striking a southbound vehicle there, according to Ridgefield Police Captain Shawn Platt.

The drivers of both cars and the passenger in the northbound car had to be extricated and transported to Danbury Hospital for evaluation of their injuries. The driver of the northbound vehicle was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The names of both motorists are being withheld pending notification of families.
