RIDGEFIELD, CT — One woman was injured in a single-car crash in Ridgefield on Monday.

Ridgefield officers were dispatched to South Salem Road on the report of an accident at around 4:41 p.m.

Police found a black Audi down a ditch just west of Cobblers Lane.

The motorist was extricated from her car by members of the Ridgefield Fire Department, and taken to Danbury Hospital for further evaluation., according to Capt. Jeff Raines.

"It appears that the vehicle was traveling east on South Salem Road when it hit the guardrail before going across the center line and striking another guardrail, then going into the woods," Raines said.
