Ridgefield 2024 Election Results: Winners Revealed In Key Races
The polls have closed in Ridgefield for the 2024 elections, and here are the latest updates on how local residents voted.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Shortly after the polls closed Tuesday night, vice President Kamala Harris was announced as the winner of Connecticut's seven electoral college votes, defeating former President Donald J. Trump and three other candidates, according to the Associated Press.
For U.S. Congress, the Associated Press reports Democrat Jim Himes is the projected winner against Republican candidate Michael Goldstein and Independent candidate Benjamin Wesley, according to unofficial results.
Democrat incumbent Sen. Ceci Maher declared victory in the 26th State Senate District race. Her Republican challenger Kami Evans conceded on social media.

Also, U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, D-CT, won re-election and a third term in Congress, according to projections. He defeated GOP challenger Matthew M. Corey and two other candidates.
Votes are still being counted in other key races, including the U.S. House of Representatives, and the state General Assembly races.

Residents also voted for their local representative in the U.S. Congress, and their local state representative and senators in the General Assembly in Hartford.
No-excuse absentee balloting — allowing voters to vote by absentee ballot under any circumstance — was approved by voters. Lawmakers in Hartford will now have the authority to ratify state law to allow it.
