Ridgefield Gas Prices Fall Again, As Oil Markets Remain On Edge

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The price of gasoline is falling once again, even as global oil markets remain on edge while fighting continues in the Middle East.

In Connecticut, a gallon of self-service regular is averaging $3.07, down two cents from last week and down three cents from last month. The national average is $3.13, down four cents from a week ago and down nine cents from a month ago.

The shift follows reports that commodities traders increasingly think major oil infrastructure in Iran will not be impacted during the conflict, according to Lauren Fabrizi, spokesperson for AAA Northeast.

In Ridgefield, the best price for a gallon of regular fuel is $3.19 at the Stateline Exxon at 242 South Salem Road. At the Shell at 130 Danbury Road, a gallon of fuel costs $4.09. The update was posted Tuesday by shopping app GasBuddy.

"Twenty-one states are averaging gasoline prices at or below $3 a gallon across the country as supply and production continue to outpace demand," Fabrizi said. "If supply and demand were the only factors, retail pump prices would likely be lower, but geopolitical forces continue to inject some uncertainty into petroleum markets."

• Hartford: $3.05
• Lower Fairfield County: $3.11
• New Haven/Meriden: $3.05
• New London/Norwich: $3.03
• Windham: $3.07

On Monday, Texas and Mississippi have the lowest prices in the nation at $2.66 and $2.69, respectively. California and Hawaii hold the highest prices in the nation this week at $4.59 and $4.57, respectively. Connecticut holds the 22nd place on the list of highest gas prices in the nation.
