RIDGEFIELD, CT — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.
This submission comes from Aparna Chauhan who nominated Hersha Chauhan Ridgefield.

Hersha is a 15-year-old student who established the non-profit Shared Empowerment during the pandemic to help girls gain the power they need to be successful. The organization supplements the education of young females in underprivileged areas by helping them develop leadership, speaking, and technological skills, and is currently raising funds for a school in rural India for its technology, sports and library.
The young Ridgefield activist has an "incredible sense of responsibility," according to the nomination.
