Ridgefield To Host Annual Make Music Day Celebration
Make Music Ridgefield returns with free live performances across town. Musicians and venues invited to register and take part.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — The streets of Ridgefield will once again come alive with music on Friday, June 21, as the town celebrates its seventh annual Make Music Ridgefield festival.
Organized by the Ridgefield Arts Council and part of the international Make Music Day initiative, the event is a free, town-wide celebration that invites musicians of all levels and genres to perform at locations throughout Ridgefield. The day features scheduled performances and spontaneous musical moments in parks, storefronts, restaurants and other public spaces.
Musicians and venue hosts are encouraged to register online to participate. Performers can sign up for available time slots at venues ranging from the Ridgefield Library to Town Hall and Main Street storefronts, while businesses and organizations can offer their spaces as performance locations.

Local music fans can expect to enjoy a diverse range of live music, including solo instrumentalists, vocalists, student ensembles, and community groups. Participation is open to amateurs and professionals alike, and there is no cost to perform or attend.

Make Music Ridgefield is part of the global Make Music Day movement, launched in France in 1982 and now observed in over 1,000 cities worldwide. In the U.S., the event is presented by the NAMM Foundation and coordinated by the Make Music Alliance.
In the event of rain, concerts planned for sidewalks may take place inside a building lobby or storefront (provided that it is okay with the space’s owner.)
