Ridgefield Man Killed In 1-Vehicle Crash: Police
The crash occurred early Thursday on Branchville Road in Ridgefield.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — A 43-year-old Ridgefield man was killed in a one-vehicle crash on Branchville Road early Thursday morning, according to Ridgefield police.
Carl Whitbeck was pronounced dead at Danbury Hospital following the 2 a.m. crash, which occurred near East Ridge Road.
"The vehicle was traveling east when it crossed over the westbound lane leaving the roadway," police said in a statement. "The vehicle then stuck an embankment before coming to rest."

The crash is under investigation, and Ridgefield police are urging anyone with any information about the crash to contact the department at 203-438-6531.
