Ridgefield Opens 2026 Tax Relief Application Window For Eligible Senior Homeowners

Ridgefield will accept senior homeowner tax relief applications Jan. 1–April 1, 2026. Residents 65+ may qualify.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Ridgefield Assessor’s Office will begin accepting applications Jan. 1 for the town’s 2026 tax relief program for eligible senior homeowners.

The filing period runs through April 1. To qualify, applicants must be at least 65 years old by Dec. 31, 2025, and must have lived in their home and paid real estate taxes on the property for at least one year before applying.

The property must serve as the homeowner’s legal domicile and be occupied for a minimum of 183 days each year. Applicants also cannot receive exemptions on other properties in any Connecticut municipality or in another state.

Homeowners already enrolled in the program do not need to reapply, town officials said.
