Ridgefield Plans Sept. 11 Memorial Ceremony
Ridgefield will host a Sept. 11 memorial Sept. 11 at 6:30 p.m. with music, readings, prayers, and tributes at the 9/11 Monument.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Town of Ridgefield will hold its annual Sept. 11 memorial ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the 9/11 Memorial Monument, 195 Danbury Road.
The ceremony will feature the Ridgefield Police Department Honor Guard and the Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Department Color Guard. First Selectman Rudy Marconi will lead the Pledge of Allegiance, deliver welcoming remarks, and later invite attendees to place flowers at the monument.
Musical performances are scheduled from the Ridgefield Nightingales, piper Tom Elliot, and the Ridgefield Chorale directed by Daniela Sikora.

The program will also include an invocation by Rabbi David Reiner of Congregation Shir Shalom, remarks from the youth leadership group Ms. President, a reflection by the Rev. Dr. Whitney Altopp of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, a reading by Ridgefield Poet Laureate Ira Joe Fisher, and a benediction from Pastor Greg Flower of Ridgefield Baptist Church.
