Ridgefield School Board Faces $1.2 Million Deficit: Report
The district is exploring a one-time appropriation from the Board of Finance.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Ridgefield school officials are charged with figuring out a way to close a $1.2 million year-end deficit, and are considering a $543,066 appropriation to close the gap, reports the Ridgefield Press.
Superintendent Karen Baldwin suggested requesting the district receive the $543,066 the town gets from the Education Cost Sharing grant. The money is meant to help towns cover education costs.
The town's Board of Financed zeroed any ECS contribution, after fears that the state would eliminate all or most of the town's allotment.
