Ridgefield Schools Face Vaping Issue: Report
Vaping has been reported at Ridgefield High School, as well as East Ridge Middle School.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Students at all age groups at Ridgefield High School have been using electronic cigarettes, but now school officials say the problem has stretched into East Ridge Middle School, reports the Ridgefield Press. RHS Class of 2018 President Maia Clarkin told the paper that students "vape all the time" at school, and East Ridge Principal Patricia Raneri recently told eighth grade parents that students had been vaping in school.
While traditional tobacco use dropped among students in the middle and high schools, electronic cigarettes have become more common. Commonly referred to as "vaping." The devices heat a liquid containing nicotine into a vapor, which the user inhales.
RHS Principal Stacey Gross said students have been caught vaping inside classrooms. However, Gross said the number of incidents at Ridgefield High School isn't as bad as some people think.
