I am endorsing Stephen Riebling for Ridgefield Board of Police Commissioners because he’s principled, honest and a good human being.

I’ve known Steve for a long time, and I’m proud to call him family and a friend. And he’s everything you’d hope for in both. Strong in character. Supportive. Thoughtful. Quick to lend a hand, listen to your problems or crack a joke. Sometimes all at the same family cookout.

As an attorney, Steve has spent his professional life passionately defending the unalienable rights of his clients, guided by an unwavering sense of justice for all. He understands the law from every angle: the letter, the spirit, and the real human impact. Because, fundamentally, he knows law enforcement and civil rights are not opposing forces: they are equal partners in the same pursuit.

Most importantly, like you, Steve truly loves Ridgefield. He’s running because he wants to make it better. It sounds so simple, but isn’t that what local government is supposed to be? Someone answering the call, duty-bound to help their community and dedicated to leaving it better than they found it? For someone like Steve, guided by empathy rather than ego, I do believe it is that simple.
