Join the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra (RSO) as the season continues this Saturday, December 6th at 7:30 PM at Richardson Auditorium at Ridgefield High School with a concert titled DEFIANCE. The concert features the outstanding professional musicians of the RSO, under the leadership of Music Director Eric Mahl and joined in concert by renowned violinist Aubree Oliverson, performing a program that includes both lively, engaging and inconic music, both classic and contemporary.
The concert opens with José Pablo Moncayo’s spirited Huapango, followed by Viaggi de Enea by composer Salvatore Di Vittorio, who will join Eric Mahl for a pre-concert talk just prior to the performance. Di Vittorio’s piece, as well as Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso by Camille Saint-Saëns, will be performed by violinist Aubree Oliverson as soloist with the orchestra. Ms. Oliverson is making her return to the RSO following a performance in the fall of 2023 which was met with rave patron reviews!
The concert program concludes with the beautiful Symphony No. 2 by Johannes Brahms. Brahms composed the work during the summer of 1877 and the piece stands as one of the great triumphs of the Romantic era, showcasing Brahms’ mastery of form, harmony and orchestration. The concert will be held on Saturday, December 6th at 7:30 PM at Richardson Auditorium at Ridgefield High School (700 North Salem Road, Ridgefield). Doors open at 6:00 PM, with a pre-concert talk in the auditorium at 6:30 PM with Music Director Eric Mahl and composer Salvatore Di Vittorio, open to all ticket holders.
