Key Updates:
- The BOE and NEA-R (National Education Association- Ridgefield, teacher’s union) have agreed on a new teachers’ contract that will take effect in 2025. A big thank you to our wonderful teachers for their commitment to supporting all RPS students!
- Updates were shared on the Academically/Intellectually Gifted Committee and a K-12 digital citizenship initiative.
- There is discussion about the need for additional space to meet the growing demands of PreK students.
- The location for the Alternative High School and 18-22 program will no longer be relocated to 66 Grove Street. The RPS administration, in collaboration with the Board of Selectpersons, is actively seeking a new location and will keep the community informed as this progresses.
Additionally, the BOE passed two policies, including one on attendance age inline with state statute. The BOE special subcommittee to work on updating current board bylaws will start work soon.
