Voters Decide On Branchville Improvements: Report

Twenty residents attended a public hearing and special town meeting to vote on funding for the town's portion of two improvement projects.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — A special town meeting Wednesday night resulted in the approval of $7 million in improvements in Branchville, reports the News Times. The town's portion of the improvements will cost $718,000, and the rest of the funding will come from a federal and a state grant.

One of the projects focuses on the reconstruction of the Portland Avenue bridge near Branchville Train Station. The other project will improve "pedestrian connectivity," adding sidewalks and street lamps on the west side of Rte. 7.

Twenty residents attended the public hearing and special town meeting, and unanimously voted to approve the projects.
