Weir Farm In Ridgefield Names Carol Fabricatore As August Artist-in-Residence
NYC-based artist Carol Fabricatore to create on-site works at Weir Farm during August residency in Ridgefield.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Weir Farm National Historical Park in Ridgefield has announced Carol Fabricatore as its August 2025 Artist-in-Residence. A visual artist based in the New York City area, Fabricatore is known for her emotionally charged narrative works that bridge abstraction and representation.
Fabricatore, whose media include acrylic and gouache, draws creative inspiration from both cityscapes and natural landscapes. She said her residency will focus on capturing the “vibrant atmosphere, subtle energy, and sense of mystery” of Weir Farm’s historic grounds.
“I am a visual artist and painter exploring narrative imagery through emotion, place, and mark-making,” said Fabricatore. “As a Weir Farm Artist-in-Residence, I embrace the program’s vision of fostering contemporary artistic expression.”

Weir Farm’s Artist-in-Residence program continues a tradition that began in 1882, when American Impressionist Julian Alden Weir made the property his summer home. Each year, the program selects six visual artists to live and work on-site between May and October. Since its inception, more than 250 artists have participated.
The residency program is supported by the Friends of Weir Farm National Historical Park, with additional funding this year from Connecticut-based travel company Tauck.
Weir Farm, located on the Wilton-Ridgefield border, is the only National Park Service site dedicated to American painting.
